 Micro-Needling/Collagen Induction Therapy

Micro-needling, also referred to as collagen induction therapy, is one of the latest technologies to hit the aesthetic industry. While dermal rolling has been around for ages, the development of the electronic micro-needling pen was a game changer.  The micro-needling pen allows us to control the speed and depth at which each needle penetrates into the skin. The Skinpen micro-needling device causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process. The micro-injuries trigger the release of cytokines and growth factors that lead to remodeling of collagen and elastin. Micro-needling is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, large pores and also remove dark spots from sun damage. Overall, it smooths the texture of your skin and encourages cell turn over, which is what creates new collagen and elastin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While a single treatment will create a change, the service delivers its best results when done in sessions of 3 or 6, scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart. For more information, check out the skin pen by Bellus Medical. Their website gives a better, scientific breakdown of how the pen helps change your skin without invasive surgery or injections.

Each treatment includes the entire face AND Neck. Should you wish to try a treatment and maybe on only one area of the face (for instance, around the mouth), I will break the face into 4 sections an charge $50 per area.

I use a topical lidocaine to numb the area prior to treatment. It is only mildly uncomfortable across the forehead and is completely tolerable everywhere else.

Dermaplaning is a technique that removes the baby soft vellus hair that naturally grows on everyone's skin from head to toe. With exception of our eye lids, the soles of our feet and palms of our hands, human beings are covered in this vellus hair, that works to keep our bodies warm. People with dark complexions, have dark pigmented vellus hair. People with light complexions, typically have light colored vellus hair, but that is not always the case. Some of us have dark colored vellus hair, even though our skin is light! Some of us have significant amounts of this vellus facial hair that you can see in sunlight and at certain angles. To rid our skin of this hair, we use dermaplaning. The treatment involves using a ten blade to gently remove the hair, while also removing the uppermost layer of dead skin, leaving your skin super smooth and hair free. It is completely painless and only needs to be done about every 4 to 6 weeks, depending how quickly you regenerate hair. As your hair grows back, it will grow as softly as it did to begin with and does not come back darker or more rigid. This treatment pairs well with most facials and take about an hour and 15 minutes.
